  • Trying to save a few bucks we decided to fly Spirit Airlines. My wife hearing about them through a family member. Booked a flight to Vegas round trip for two for a weekend getaway. Knowing that the airline charges per bag including all carry on bags. We packed just one suitcase to check in. Which ended up being a good call on our part. The airline staff from the front desk, to the flight attendants and everyone else who worked for Spirit we came into contact with were courteous and professional. The reason for a star. Everything else from the purchasing tickets online to the hidden charges are terrible. You have to pay to even sit together. The best part of the flight. The booze. One more star. So adding all the fees of bags and sitting together adds up to a regular fare to a better airline. Our flight returning home was also canceled to a flight ten hours later. We are talking a flight to San Diego to Vegas with clear skies. That is unacceptable. I can see some using Spirit Airlines. The in-person service is great. Fares are cheap if your solo, don't have a lot of luggage and your not in a hurry. For me however, it doesn't fit the bill. I am flying someone else.
