| - So when we moved to Arizona in May 2014 we were quoted $124.00 (with taxes) for cable, internet, and phone. The technician did not know the correct stuff to install. We needed one HD box and one modem. He tried to install two standard boxes. He said if he changed the order to HD he would have to charge for it (and asked for payment up front). I told him let me speak to his supervisor and we would see about that. He backed down because he was trying to pocket the extra money. After that we got our first bill. It was around $180. I figured it was an activation fee or whatever tacked on to it, so I paid it (in full) without incident. The second month we received another bill, this time for $184.00. I called and explained that was not what we were quoted and that besides, the bill should be the same every month for the same service.
Initially I was told there was nothing they could do. I complained and was transferred to a supervisor. The supervisor added that she could only get my bill down to $132.00. I told her I guess that would do. She said that price was with taxes and would be good for 12 months from that billing cycle. The next month the bill was $134.00. I didn't complain. Then the month after it was $164.00. I called and complained asked to speak with the loyalty department. This time they said they could only get it to $154.00. I asked to speak with a supervisor and it was lowered to $144.00. Then the next month it was $158.00. It has gotten to the point where I have a different bill every month for the services. If I don't call in and complain I'm sure it would already be over $200-250 every month. Last month it was $154.00. I was told that it would be lowered to $132.00 the next bill. This time I overpaid the bill by $15.00. I paid $169 (it was supposed to be 154). When I received my bill that was supposed to be $132.00, it was $149.00. I had the $15.00 credit it on it as well, meaning that bill would have been $164.00 had I not done overpaid.
On to their service. The internet is always disrupted. We have the 50 Mbps service, but we get 5 to 25 Mbps every month. I was told it was the router I had. Bought a new one, same issues. I always use Netgear because they are simple to set up and generally just work. Powercycled everything as well. Turns out our neighbors with Cox were having the same issues as well. Furthermore our DVR never records correctly, the shows take forever to be posted on demand, and the picture freezes (never does when I'm on the Xbox so it is not the T.V.). Quite frankly the only reason I am with them is because Century Link is even worse than them. I had Comcast before I moved to Arizona and their services just worked AND they were always the same price every month for 2 years. After the 2 years the bill went up ONE dollar. We are moving out of the state next year and I will be so glad to be done with them and the rest of the scamming businesses in this state.
