| - It's Vegas, Baby!
Hawai'i is my home and for the past 30 years years, we are used to seeing one of the World's most active volcanos erupting. K?lauea volcano has been constantly spewing lava from its Pu'u '?'? crater as the southeastern side of the Big Island expands from the lava flows. The heat from an active volcano's lava flow aka magma is tremendous (2,000 degrees F) and fortunately, K?lauea has been known for quiet eruptions that rarely endanger lives. However, in recent times, we have seen or heard about K?lauea's devastating explosiveness. So you can imagine that viewing an active volcano, there are safety issues and our Volcano National Park Rangers are always watching out for the public. Oh, if you have sulfur allergies, it's advised that you wear a respiratory protective mask as eruptions produce noxious sulfur dioxide gas.
However, coming to Las Vegas, one can SAFELY view and explosive volcanic eruption along S Las Vegas Blvd at the frontage of The Mirage Resort. There is a volcano show schedule posted which reads:
SUNDAY through THURSDAY 7PM and 8PM
FRIDAY, SATURDAY & SUNDAY 7PM, 8PM & 9PM
So, there are numerous opportunities for your viewing pleasure. You don't have to worry about wearing heat or allergen protective gear and you can count on seeing this show. I never tire of watching these resort shows as we stroll either up or down The Strip during the evening.
BONUS: The shows are FREE!
