First off, this would have been a pretty decent 4 stars if service was a little more considerate.. The food was good- don't get me wrong. It was authentically flavored. I got the fried tofu sautéed with lemongrass and other spices. And it was pretty good. My friend got the shaken beef (bò lúc lc) and he loved it (and he's a pretty picky eater). So I'd say food was pretty successful, but for me, I've definitely had better, since I grew up in Vietnam and was used to more authentic dishes.
I was really bummed that they didn't have any rice crepe (bánh xèo) when I came in today, even though it was dinner time. Maybe they ran out? Who knows, but rice crepe is a solid and beloved dish and should never have a shortage lol
The 1 criticism I have about service is that the waiter seemed really rushed about getting our order.. he approached 3-4x asking even after we requested time to look over the menu. Maybe that was just inexperience. He also gave us our check half-way thru the meal. No joke. Brought us the check while I was gnawing thru half of my tofu dish and said thank you for coming. Idk I felt like I was constantly rushed to order and to eat and to leave. But maybe that's just me.
