This is one of two YMCA's in the city of Toronto. The other being the North York one at Bayview & Sheppard.
It is located beside Scarborough Town Centre and has the standard amenities such as pool and gym.
It is very cramped and is almost always busy. As far as a gym goes, there are definitely better offerings in the city but for those who can't afford a regular gym membership, the YMCA serves a great purpose.
Parking is plentiful as you can park at Scarborough Town Centre and walk over. The Scarborough RT line also is close by so transportation is great for this location.
The equipment is dated and the facilities could definitely use an upgrade but as far as YMCA's go, it's fine.
The downside is the younger kids who like to chill out at the location. For those who take their training seriously, this is a huge negative as this crowd serves as a distraction and obstacle.
Additionally the lack of space during peak periods is a huge negative as well. With limited space you'll be trying to do your workout all over the place and will have to jump around frequently.
All in all, it's a great gym for those who need a gym for cheap. But if you can afford a gym membership, there are definitely better offerings around.
