  • I have been following Opendoor's journey since they entered the market in DFW. The concept is convenient and definitely disruptive to the traditional real estate model. Touring homes on our own time without relying on scheduling with an agent has allowed us to do a lot of research into the style of home and areas we are considering. I noticed from the start that opendoor overprices homes and they sit on the market for months. The "renovations" are typically bare bones and cosmetic with cheap quality materials. House hunters notice the details like chipped paint, loose tiles, broken floor boards etc. it cheapens the home and negatively impacts the credibility of opendoor. If you overprice your homes I suggest you use better quality materials at least. This company has potential but needs help with better understanding the market and quality control with "renovations". We offered on a house and the process was frustrating and shady with poor communication. Please address your communication and customer service issues before you irreversibly tarnish your reputation. It was for the best that we were outbid and we plan to stay away from Opendoor properties in the future.
