Okay, Pittsburghers, I got one thing to say to you: What. The. Heck.
Spak Brothers, I like your pizza just fine. A-ok in my book. Fresh crust, good ingredients that stand up to creative application - I'm 100% down with non-conformity when it comes to pizza. Great musical selections and lots of stuff to look at (and pinball to play). But nothing about this rates a five-star on its own.
But - I can only imagine that the folks giving Spak five stars are inexperienced pizza eaters, are faux-punks shilling for their 'hood, or the pizza is truly terrible in the 'Burgh (not true). Giving your hood love, I get that. Interesting things like seitan wings and vegan cheesesteaks are cool to have on offer. But once you're past the cool factor...Spak ends up middle-of-the-road.
Chalking this up as another one of those, "But, this is so well-reviewed on Yelp!" - can't trust everything you read on the internet - experiences.
