  • I visited Hobe Meats for the first time on 11/13/15. I bought 5 lbs of beef chuck and some bacon. The meats were excellent and my Wife won a chili cook off with their chuck. The problem with this visit and the reason for two stars is poor service from the man behind the counter. If I ask for 5 lbs, don't put 6 lbs on the scale and ask me if thats ok. If I pick out the freshest cuts, dont try to slip in the ugly brown cut from a previous day. Next was the bacon, again greatly over weighed from what I asked for. The problem that upset me the most was the condescending attitude I got in response to asking for correct weights. I was basically told that because I am not a butcher that I shouldnt be so picky and that i was making the purchase harder than it needed to be. Again, the meats I bought were great, but If service matters go elsewhere.
