| - Went to Zuzu to try their Showstopper Shake. According to their social media postings, the share was available daily after 2:00. We got their at 2:30 and they were confused that we had an OpenTable reservation since they said they don't take reservations in the afternoon and they weren't serving regular menu (huh?). Didn't matter, there was plenty of seating outside, the weather was beautiful, and the lounge (bar) menu had sandwiches and apps, plus drinks, so plenty to eat.
We asked for the shake first, in case it was too filling and we couldn't eat lunch after. The waitress came back and said the chef couldn't make the shake at that time. What?? Since that was the whole purpose of our visit, I suggested to my husband that we leave, but he said we should stay since we were already there. We ordered sandwiches. Shortly after the waitress returned and told us the pastry chef COULD make us a shake (um, ok) so we ordered one.
The shake was amazing - definitely needs to be shared but presentation was gorgeous and it tasted yummy (we were there in Feb 2018 and shake was red velvet cupcake with cream cheese milkshake). Not long after our shake was brought out, our sandwiches were served (really too close together). Sandwiches were really good - I had California Turkey BLT and my husband had the burger; we both enjoyed our sandwiches. Chips served with sandwiches were especially tasty!
Next time I will call to confirm when we can order the shake and we will order and enjoy that first and then see if we really want (can fit) lunch. Our waitress was good but I feel like the timing of food could be improved.
