Perhaps the most telling barometer for how a school operates on a daily basis is how they treat their visitors. I was in town for a vacation and dropped into the gym. Not only did Robert Drysdale take the time to talk with me and provide superb instruction, but his team was every bit as gracious with their time and hospitality.
The science behind the technique is everything you would imagine, but the code of honor and respect flows from the top down. My experience rolling with the students at the gym was a wonderful combination of healthy competition, coupled with excellent feedback on my game and suggestions on how to improve it.
And as someone with the most remedial of BJJ skills, I can assure you: This place is perfect for students of all skill levels. They matched me up with a higher belt to learn the techniques and then made sure I interacted and rolled with a variety of students across the belt spectrum. The takeaway being: everyone here comes to learn and get better, regardless of belt color.
If you are someone looking for a place to train while out in Vegas, you would do well to stop right here. Because when you get the chance to learn from (and train with) a world class champion, you'd be stupid not to take the opportunity to do so.
I will definitely be returning to this location when I'm back in town--and strongly encourage you to do the same.
