  • About a month ago I took my car, a 2001 Honda Accord, in for an oil change....just an oil change. I waited the usual 45 minutes. Then The service advisor calls me over and has a list of things I should have done to my car asap. Some were obvious maintenance suggestions after a certain mileage was reached. However, there were 1 or 2 things on the list that I just had maintenance on a few months before my oil change. I had a transmission flush, brake fluid flush and my old battery replaced. On their list of fixes for my last oil change, brake fluid flush was on there. I asked the service manager why I had to get that done again if I had just had the brake fluid flush months ago. She looked surprised & said she didn't know why the mechanics weren't checking the history of the maintenance on my car. First of all, they are supposed to be doing a free inspection of the vehicle, Not looking that stuff up. Then she said my brake pads in the front of the car were at a 2. Months before they were at a 4. I don't drive my vehicle a lot. Way less than the average person. I work from home, so I'm not leaving the house that much. Before I took my car in it was running fine. I just needed the oil change because I want the life of my car to last. When I left Honda, my steering was tight and I had a hard time turning the wheel. Power steering was a suggestion on that list of maintenance. Before I got the oil change, my steering was fine. The brakes after the oil change were making a lot of noise. Before the oil change, they were not. Now my brakes are sticking so when I drive it the car has lag and constantly makes noise because the brakes are now stuck all of the time. I did not have this issue before, and I do not drive my car a lot. I gave them a bad review on Facebook, only to have the service manager call me the next day and leave me a voicemail, basically covering her own ass. Telling me that if I didn't return her call she would assume that everything was ok with the service and that I had no issues with their service. Well she didn't take into account that I have an autoimmune disease that limits my daily activities. I was sick for days and this lady gave me a time limit in which to call her back. Seriously? I know I don't look wealthy, so I'm not sure why these people try to roll me for cash every time I'm in there for an oil change. Then I get calls and emails to buy a new car and trade mine in. These people should be put out of business. If they want to behave like thieves, then that should be the business they look into. Instead they continue to rip off the little guy/gal who can't even afford to pay attention let alone the stuff they purposely destroy so they can make a buck by getting you into a new or preowned vehicle. I'll never come back to this dealership. I'm also seeking legal advice concerning this matter as well.
