  • WORST experience ever. i am 40 years old and decided to go on this journey using donor sperm. I met with the doctor and proceeded along the path doing bloodwork, procedures, meeting with their psychologist, etc. i was told once my bloodwork came back that my levels were low, but not abnormal for my age group and to go ahead and order the donor sperm. I did. when it was time, i went to get my ultrasound and bloodwork. nobody explained anything to me, but gave me a prescription for hormone therapy and tried to usher me out. I asked about how to use the injections, where to get them filled, and received short answers. while i was on my way to the pharmacy, i got a call saying my FSH levels were high. I asked what that meant and was told the medicine wouldn't work as well for me. I then asked what the normal range and what my level was. When i was told this, i asked how that would impact my chances of having a successful pregnancy. she didn't know, but said she'd talk to a doctor -mine was on vacation apparently- and call back. result was less than 10%. she then was surprised when i said i wouldn't move forward. i'm not going to put myself through the emotional, physical and financial hardship with those odds. I think it's horrible that these people never mentioned there was another test to be done which could prevent me from moving forward after recommending me to purchase my donor sperm. now, i'm unable to use the sperm and this money was wasted for no reason. when i tried to speak to someone about the procedure so it could be changed and to make sure they let others know about this test and its meaning for women, i was met by resistance and a condescending attitude. i also had to prepay for my procedure and have not yet received a credit for that. disgusting. you are treated in a cold, uncaring way, not given information necessary to make informed decisions, and unable to get anyone on the phone - really? in a time-sensitive situation, i was given the option to speak to my doctor 3-4 weeks later about this. disgusting. these people should be ashamed.
