| - Where do I even begin..
Well for starters, I went in to tour the day care (which is now called Infinity learning center) The tour was given by Michelle, who failed to give me ANY info about anything, really. I mentioned that I'm a bar tender, so my schedule varies and sometimes it'll be late nights. I am a single mother with a 2 1/2 y/o so I get help from the Urban League. I asked for her to let me know when the authorization goes through because I need to have my daughter in day care ASAP! Tuesday comes, no phone call so I finally call and a girl answers and tells me they received it the day PRIOR. A little aggravated, I ask what else I need to have my daughter start ASAP. I am now told over the phone that I need to pick up and application. I was just there, touring the place, don't you think it would be smart for you guys to give me the application while I'm already there?! This place isn't close to me, but it's the only "decent" supposably "24 hour" day care center. So I drive back down there and pick up an application from Michelle. Im about to fill out the application when she asks me when we can start, I say immediately and she tells me I need to give them my schedule a week in advance. I'm even More irritated, because I feel like this is all info that should be said during the tour. So I take the app home, fill it out and get a copy of my schedule, bring it BACK to Infinity, and they say she can start the next day. FINALLY.
Wednesday comes, I get a phone call from Michelle THIRTY MINUTES before I'm going to leave my house to drop off my daughter. She tells me that they charge $15 a day for child care after 6:30. Once again, information that should've been told to me WHEN I WAS THERE TOURING THE PLACE. Not thirty minutes before I'm about to drop her off. Also, I love how she can't call me to tell me that my authorization was received, but she can call me when it regards taking my money! Annoyed, I tell her that I'm most likely going to take my business elsewhere and while I'm trying to explain why, she continuously talks over me and says that the Urban League should have given me the information. They are just helping me pay for it, they are not going to know the information for every single child care in Las Vegas! I don't take my daughter to day care that night and I called that Friday to find out from Sarah if we can finish off the weekend and the following week. So I take Elena for the night shift, she tells me the proper info regarding the copay for the night schedule. 15$ to cover the entire week. 15$ a night for Saturday and Sunday. Cool, I can deal with that. She apologizes for Michelle's mistakes for wrong information (more like not enough) and mentions that she's only been there for two weeks. I thought okay, maybe I can give this place the benefit of the doubt. WRONG.
Like have said before, I work in the restaurant industry. My schedule will say I'm off at 9, but most days I won't be off until 10. That's why I chose a 24 hour day care! I pick up my daughter 15 minutes later than the scheduled time, and the teacher that was with my daughter mentions that they will call CPS if I do not pick my daughter up on time. I thank her for relaying that information, she mentions that Michelle has made more mistakes with other parents and she'll probably get demoted or whatever. She begins to tell me a little more info about the place, policies, etc and thanks me for giving it a second chance. I can't remember her name, but she was probably the most helpful person and the nicest to me. It seemed like she knew more than the director (Sarah)!
The week goes by, things are going okay and I'm actually thinking I might stick with the place. Come this morning(Friday) I have to clock into work at 11am which is across town from this place. I get there at 10, no one is there. I waited until 10:45 until I decided I needed to leave. 15 minutes late to work and with my child in tow, she had to stay at my work for an hour before my sister was able to pick her up! I call Infinity to let the director know that we will no longer be attending, and the teacher that answers tells me she was there at 10:35. BS. Sarah calls me later with more BS about how they don't have to be there until 15 minutes before I have to clock into work. Makes no sense, because I was originally told they would be there an hour before!
This place has been nothing but a nightmare from before day one even started. More concerned about money than the well being of the children. Don't put someone at the front desk until they are properly and fully trained!!
