  • I lived in one of Valinksy's properties on Maryland Ave in Shadyside for three years, and I only have good things to say. Howard, the owner, and Dayna, his manager of sorts, were both professional and helpful. I had a few small service issues throughout my time (leaky sink, low water pressure, etc.) and they were responded to within 24 hours, always. Their rent prices are very reasonable. They will raise your rent annually which is a common business practice in apartment rental and should be expected. Helpful hint: If you pay for a reserved parking spot, NEVER REMOVE THE PARKING TAG or else you WILL be towed. This is a great service that Valinsky provides, but they'll tow your car too if the tag isn't on the rear view mirror! Speaking from experience of course. Lastly, I received my security deposit back in full after three years in the same apartment. Take into account that I was very clean and respectful, and cleaned the apartment thoroughly before moving out- but there were a few blemishes on the walls from hanging posters, paintings, etc, and I was happy to see that I was not penalized. In a world of crappy Pittsburgh landlords, I highly recommend Valinsky.
