The hype is real. Oyster Bar is undoubtedly the best pan roast this side of the US. There are a number of reasons why you wouldn't want to eat at Oyster Bar.
1. There are only a handful of seats. You know what that means. Expect to wait. Which brings me to #2.
2. The wait is on average 1.5 hours. I considered myself lucky with only having to wait 1 hour to be seated. However, it may take as long as a half hour to actually get your food.
3. The line pours into the casino. No, you cannot leave and expect to get your original spot in line. Don't be surprised if your back door is facing someone sitting at a slot machine, with cigarette smoke fanning towards your face.
Knowing all of this, people are still willing to wait and I now understand why.
Combo Pan Roast -- I watched Bob prepare my pan roast with so much ease it was like 2nd nature to him. He threw in generous scoops of shrimp, crab and lobster. Just that alone impressed the heck out of me. The local spots in my area are pretty chintzy with the seafood portions, and those spots are priced higher than Oyster Bar! The bisque alone had so much depth to the flavor and it had the perfect, creamy consistency. I ordered a level 7 spicy which was probably too daring of me because it was pretty darn spicy. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed my meal.
Not only do you need to go to Oyster Bar but you will want to hope to God Bob is the chef on duty because he is honestly the better chef compared to the other chef I saw.
