  • I hate that I am having to do this. I have been so excited about Amelie's coming to south Charlotte for months. I went yesterday for some iced coffee and was totally unimpressed. The decor is cool but, not as eclectic as NoDa. The staff and barista treated me like "just another customer" (something I never feel at Starbucks.) The whole restaurant smelled of wet paint. I realize it just opened but, come on. When I went to the condiments station the trash can was filthy with food particles on the receptacle. Really quite disgusting. I was also shocked to see piles of dirty dishes on a trolly in the middle of the restaurant, right next to where you doctor up your coffee. Really gross. Hope they work out some of these things. I am willing to give it another try because, well, the coffee is delicious!
