My wife bought a pot of sausa last week. She thought the expiry date said 2015 MA 30, when she checked on the store. When we opened it today, we thought it smelled weird, and when she checked the expiry date again, it turned out that it actually said 2015 JA 30 (so the expiry date was 2 months ago!)
We brought it back to the store because the website said they have an unconditional freshness policy (and I quote "If you're not satisfied with the freshness of your purchase, we will refund your money. That's a promise."), but they refused to refund it and did not exchange the expired product either. And the cashier even asked the manager whether the the expired product was eligible for return on the grounds that it was opened (as if they were planning on putting it back on the shelf or something...)
They just lost years worth of future sales trying to save the $3 dollars that the sausa was worth. My wife has short temper, so now they're mopping sausa off the floor. I guess that's at least a $3 dollars well earned for the poor sap doing cleaning duty.
