| - It's neat, sort of. It's not a very big exhibit. There are four basic rooms to it- two are about his inventions, one is about the Mona Lisa, and the last is a short repeating film about the Last Supper painting.
The inventions section is definitely neat. It's cool to see the realized versions of sketches you've come to know through the years. Some of them are even interactive.
The Mona Lisa specific area is interesting, just to see how art actually deteriorates over time, how restorations make things look, etc. It's cool to see how Da Vinci thought about experimental things and was just this immensely creative person who was years and years ahead of his time.
The Last Supper paining movie is informative, but looks terrible. It's hard to make out details of the painting just because the projector is last generation. If two people pay $46 to get in, it shouldn't take this place long to get a hi-def projector.
Came with my wife on the Groupon deal. Part of me kind of suspects that the Groupon deal is actually the standard rate, and that the standard rate is some obscene fee that no one in their right mind should pay... $23 per person is definitely more than this is worth.
The tacky picture is worth it if you make it awkward. My wife and I certainly did, and it made the trip worth it. If you're not into an awkward/funny picture of you painting the Mona Lisa, or you don't really care all too deeply about history or art history, there are certainly much better things you can spend your money on.
