  • MOLD on my cake. They call their bakery 'boulangerie', so I expected top shelf French worthy stuff. I should have listened to my cake gut when I was initially unimpressed with the dessert displays. Really boring unpretty blobs, like what I could get at any average grocery store. Except the prices were higher. No biggie if stuff costs more, but it better taste more too. I grabbed a slice of tiramisu and a raspberry mousse cake. Quality of ingredients was no better than a 7-11 donut. Tiramisu was low grade crap and didn't even have espresso or mascarpone in it. Then the raspberry slice. Green. Mold. WTF? AJ's over all store doesn't stand out enough for me to overlook my bull boulangerie experience. They don't serve, sell, or specialize in anything I can't get at another shop. La Grande Orange, Phoenix Public Market, Sprouts, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Fresh & Easy... no reason for me to return here.
