  • Sugar Creek was my first stop off the plane after arriving in Charlotte, and I have to say that they didn't disappoint. When you first arrive you will notice you are welcomed by a small desk and patio out front that you walk past to get to the tap room. The patio itself seemed perfect for evenings outside with friends, as it was complete with a giant Jenga and cornhole games along with several picnic tables. Once side you will find a large L shaped bar along with a number of tables for those. The atmosphere here is very relaxed yet maintains a fun upbeat vibe with some great music videos playing on the TV. As far as the beer goes I went with a flight, so I could sample four beers rather than just one or two. A flight here consists of four 4oz pours, which is pretty reasonable and the perfect sampler to help you decide on that perfect beer. My favorite beer of the evening was their Raspberry White Ale, it was light, fresh and downright delicious, however the Pale Ale and White Ale (Witbier) were tied for a close second. There were other beers that I wanted to try, however I only went with a single flight, because I intended on coming back another night. Unfortunately that didn't end up happening, but I was able to get a good idea of what beers I will get in the future. Food isn't served here, however if you time it right you can catch a food truck outside, unfortunately for me they had engine troubles that night so there was no food service, which required me to grab a bite to eat on the way to my hotel instead. Any ways prices were reasonable and the service here was super friendly, which help make Sugar Creek a solid choice. Overall Sugar Creek was probably one of my best stops while in Charlotte and I cannot wait to return on a future visit.
