  • The menu here is exquisite and never disappoints, however our service tonight was less than impressive. We had reservations for 8 pm, but due to construction in the plaza {not mentioned by the host when making our reservation} we ending up being 20 minutes late for our reservation. We did call and let the restaurant know we were running late. When we arrived our server, Hilary, went to take our drink and appetizer order before 2 of our party of 6 settled in. After appetizers she said "you need to hurry up and order entrees before the kitchen closes". It was 8:25, and the restaurant advertises being open until 9 pm. After taking our rushed dinner orders, Hilary continued to rush our dessert order. We felt very I unwelcomed and rushed and have never had this kind of experience at Solo. After having frequented this restaurant and always been impressed, we decided whole walking in, that we were going to tip our server $100 because 1) we were late for our reservation 2) we had a groupon for $300 worth of food for which we paid $150 3) we were dining there after a very expensive failed Vegas trip for the weekend and 4) I am a server myself, and have beat tipping 20% into my family's head. Being a server, I do understand the frustration that comes with guests walking in 10 even 15 minutes before close, however we were there in ample time to eat and be out of the restaurant 15 minutes after close. We ended up tipping Hilary 16%, which we thought was more than deserving. We will certainly return to Solo, however, we will be sure to request a sever other than Hilary.
