| - Where do I begin to sing the praises of Holt Family Dentistry?
I went to my last dentist for ooohh....20 years back home in Michigan. Seriously. Every member of my family went there. It was one of the ways I would see my dad when I got older, he was always there getting his teeth cleaned or some other dental procedure he felt was urgently necessary. The dentist came to my sister's wedding. So needless to say, I was used to a VERY friendly and family like atmosphere. That left big shoes to fill when I moved to Charlotte two years ago. I had been to the chain dentists where I felt like a number and couldn't get a callback. Not for me. To my utmost shame...I neglected going to the dentist for a few years, my poor teeth. Flying home to see Dr. Dave was just out of the question, my private plane was in the shop. Then lo and behold...a golden letter in the mail from Holt Family Dentistry. It was warm and inviting and suggested I make a dental appt. "Aw what the hell.." I thought. It was time and she went to U of M (Go Blue!). I called a left a message....ball is in their court now. Maybe i'll just never have to get my teeth cleaned again (Hehe).
Cut to the next day when Chris called me to set up an appointment. From the moment I spoke with her, she made me feel warm and invited and even excited *GASP* to come in. They offered early and flexible hours, which was great. The office is very clean and aesthetically pleasing, they offer lemon and cucumber water in the front as well. That just screams classy AF. Julie and Temaria (Sorry if I misspelled your name girl, you're the BEST!) Dr. Holt's assistants are fantastic. Everyone here is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Dr. Holt has a great bedside (or is it chairside?) manner. She made me feel at ease, but also didn't make me feel like she was suggesting things that were not necessary to my dental health.
Now Yelpers, I have clout on this review because I had to go to Dr. Holt's not once, not twice, BUT THREE DAYS in a row. The first visit I had some bad news, what a shocker, not going to the dentist for over two years and I had some cavities (those caramel frappuccinos did me wrong). Dr. Holt not only stayed late to knock a few of them out that first day, but then made another appointment the following day to finish the job and for a deep cleaning. Obviously, getting fillings is not a walk in the park, but the team and Dr. Holt made it as pleasant as it could be. They even have TV's, Netflix, headphones and soft music playing. So I drowned out to NPR and then HGTV to make the drilling noises oh so faint. Dr. Holt was almost a perfectionist with my fillings, going over and over my bite and making sure the fillings fit perfect with no issues. I mean really com'n...who spends that much time on TEETH. They're hardly used! Right? Haha. Obviously, i'm thankful. I was eating cheese puffs that night and completely forgot I even HAD fillings done that day. Talk about amazing! Modern Medicine right??
Anyways, after all that fun I had getting my teeth drilled out I saw a flyer in the office for ZOOM teeth whitening. I figured if I was doing all that work on my mouth I might as well have it look a little better too so I booked an appointment for the next morning. The ladies laughed when they saw me walk in again. I was like Norm from Cheers at this point. Temaria was so knowledge and friendly about the procedure she put me at ease. Three 15 minute light and bleach treatments. I had ZERO sensitivity at all. Very comfortable and they check in on you to make sure you're OK. It was relaxing! After all that, it was time for the BIG reveal. I COULDN'T BELIEVE MY TEETH! People....I look like a movie star. Well, my teeth could be in a movie at least. My face would be an extra or an understudy for my teeth. All the ladies were happy for me and even Dr. Holt came in to take a look and compliment me. It was so exciting and a great start to my day. We even all took a selfie together after to show off! By the way ladies, I want that picture! In addition, their SWAG game is tiiiiight. I got two tote bags, color photos of my teeth and gums (i'll be framing those to hang in my family room) a coffee mug, pens and a chapstick. Com'n guys, we all love swag and i'll be lookin' realll good driving around town with my white teeth and my HFD coffee cup. Queue "Who's that lady?" playing in the background.
All said and done I could probably even go on MORE about how great Holt Family Dentistry is but stop reading this review and give them call. Seriously. They are the best. I found my new dental family in Charlotte :) Now they just won't be able to get rid of me for the next 20 years. THANK YOU DR. HOLT AND ALL YOU FABULOUS LADIES! :)
