  • This hospital does not fully investigate the doctors who work and perform surgery at their facility. One of the surgeons with operating privileges recently performed laparoscopic gallbladder surgery on a patient I know personally. Something that he did required that he perform a second operation, and he injured her bile duct, and she is now awaiting transport by a medical airplane to UCLA medical center because there is not a doctor in Las Vegas who can repair the damage to her bile duct or her liver. She may be facing a liver transplant. The surgical staples remain in place even though it is approaching 21 days since surgery, and the doctor said the window for removal shouldn't exceed 14 days. The incision is from sternum to navel. The patient rooms are dirty. I had to request that someone mop the floor. The patient has been there for a month, and has not been allowed to eat or drink. One of the nurses removed her IV nutrition, and failed to replace it until asked why it had been removed. We were told that it had been given to a different patient even though each IV bag is specially mixed for each patient. The patient was admitted and was then made to wait 5 days before surgery even though she was told the surgery should be performed on an emergent basis. The patient has also been made to wait for 2 hours or more after wetting the bed for someone to respond to the call signal to help her. We were told on May 3 that the patient needed to be air lifted to UCLA that day, and she hasn't been moved. Who knows what kind of internal damage she is suffering without treatment. Don't go to this hospital. Most of the hospitals in the Valley Health System are just as bad.
