| - Bouchon is heaven.
Oh. my. god. The quiche. The quiche is like none other that I've ever had. It's really tall and fluffy and flavorful, and the crust is perfectly flaky. That's the dish that hooked me. After that I've made it a point to have brunch or dinner here every time I'm in Vegas.
My favorite dinner entree here is the trout. I think they have different seasonal preparations for it (I've had it once with almonds and once with cauliflower), but it's awesome either way. If you're lucky enough to eat here while they have their special veal appetizer, you'd be stupid not to order it. It's like a little rectangular piece of veal with a crispy topping on a bed of creamy polenta in an espresso broth. SOOOO GOOD! Wtf? It boggles my mind how Keller came up with that combination. I dunno what they do to that veal, but there was so much flavor in each bite that I almost died before my entree arrived. My boyfriend ordered the Capon (also a special - chicken that has had its man-parts removed), which was also extremely delicious. Most tender chicken I've ever had.
We did run into problems with the service during one brunch. The waiter was awful. He told us the wrong specials, forgot to bring our coffee, and just wasn't very attentive. That day something was wrong with their system and they weren't able to process any payments. The waiter got very frustrated because he had several tables wanting to pay and leave, so he started cussing in front of everybody. I mean, I cuss too, but I just didn't expect it in a classy restaurant like Bouchon, or any restaurant for that matter. He probably had a nervous breakdown or something. The general manager did send me a $50 certificate though to make up for the awful experience. Even with the service problems, I still give it 5 stars, the food is THAT good.
Bouchon is coming to Beverly Hills!!! =D
