Using a combination of looking at pictures I took of the soccer celebrations and then using Google street view, I was finally able to find where it was that I watched the European cup final on the Sunday gone. (although on Google Streetview this place is non-existent)
Yes okay okay I did not go to the foggy dew and instead I opted to go somewhere for real football fan atmosphere where I could maybe share facts with someone else who thinks Torres is crap and Iniesta totally superb.
So after a 30 minute walk around little Italy trying to find somewhere to sit down and see the game, we were close to heading back downtown, until we stumbled into here and found two bar stools empty, obviously fate that we must watch the game here so we rushed for those stools and claimed them (like women at a handbag sale) and made ourselves at home.
The capacity of this place is 56 - yes I was spying the permit thingymajig on the wall and within half an hour the place soon got packed out, a full hour before the game had even started.
There are no food menus, or atleast there was not when we asked, instead the same lady shouted out four types of sandwiches to us and that was it. No fries, no calamari and no big dishes. Not sure if this is just due to the football but I ordered a beef sandwich which came out in decent enough time but was not great and did little for my appetite.
There is a board on the right of the bar area which has a list of cocktails and for $8 they really are not worth it, the measure of vodka is small and they go down to quick.
Okay so the place is not sounding great BUT they had Guinness and they also had black current cordial! Guinness and black was soon flowing and I was a very happy chappy.
Conclusion - its a nice enough small pub/bar the staff are great and they have black current cordial, I would go back just for a G&B but I think like any establishment they need to offer more variety on the food or at least a decent snack menu.
