I've been a customer at PNC for years, so when I needed a personal loan to pay off two credit cards that's where I went on September 16. Several weeks later, when the accounts hadn't been paid, I checked with PNC and was told it could take up to 10 business days, then later 14, then was turned over to the bank manager who said if I wanted to cancel the checks and reissue them I'd have to come in. She stated it wasn't a bank error because they used the addresses I had provided. To make a long story short, what I thought were copies of the checks that had been mailed to me at my home, in one fed ex envelope dated September 25, were the originals!! The bank manager would not even admit it was a bank error and I ended up paying some of the late payment fees myself (the companies dropped some when I told them what happened)
The icing on the cake was I mailed the checks myself, because the branch manager told me they had a courier who only picked up several times a week. Id that had been me I'd have sprung for two stamps to mail them to make a customer happy.
Needless to say I'm transferring to another bank where they will hopefully treat me with respect - and will own up to it if they make a mistake.
PNC - Positively No Cooperation!
