  • My appointment was a little over a month ago but I cancelled my follow-up appointment at this dentist; it's a polite but firm and unwavering no from me. It has been so difficult to find a dentist since moving to AZ. I loved my dentist in NY and was still going there for my cleanings when I went back to visit up until this year. My husband did not want to make an appointment here because he already had a dentist in mind but trying to get an appointment with that office was impossible and I was experiencing teeth sensitivity on some front teeth that I never had before so I wanted to be seen ASAP. What I liked about this office was that they're open on Saturdays. In Arizona?! Barely ANY medical offices are opened on the weekends here so I jumped on it. They weren't taking new patients at the location nearest to my home (yes, this is a chain) but the open location was only 11 minutes from my job so I went with it. Customer service was great, the receptionist was very sweet and polite, as were the dental assistants as well as the first woman who did my cleaning and showed me the proper way to floss. However, taking x-rays took FOREVER because they don't have a full size machine and they needed to take the x-ray over and over and over again in order to get the image they needed. I had to ask if this was standard, which I knew it wasn't, and they reassured me I wasn't being exposed to excess amounts of radiation. I guess we'll see about that later down the line, huh? After what seemed like over an hour, it turns out I had small two cavities on either side, great. Someone came in to talk to me about pricing and I decided to just get both cavities fixed that day - bad idea. The dentist came in and told me he didn't recommend numbing both sides of my mouth and that he could attempt to do it without numbing me since the pain isn't that bad and I agreed for him to try it. He instructed me to raise my hand if the pain got to intense, I had to raise my hand TWICE before he stopped and I told him to forget it, numb my mouth and I'd come back for the other side. Well, the numbing agent didn't work that well and I could still feel pain which the dentist noticed. When I went to pay, after it was all said and done, they tried to charge me full price and I informed them I only had one cavity filled. The same woman who sat with me said "yes, that's the price for one side", which wasn't what she had just explained to me earlier. I just looked at her because I knew that was not the case and she ended up going over the paperwork and adjusting it to the correct price. I made my next appointment and was on my way. I ended up canceling because the side of mouth where the cavity was is SO SENSITIVE now! I never had had that prior. I mean, the initial area of sensitivity kind of worked itself out with no help of the dentist (when I went they said they didn't see anything wrong with that tooth) but the new sensitivity was pretty much unbearable. I had to eat on the other side of my mouth up until about two weeks ago. I didn't even want to go back and try to have it fixed because I didn't trust their work. I would not recommend this office to anyone looking for a dentist. I'd say bite the bullet and wait for an appointment at a reputable dentist so you don't even up feeling like you're literally biting bullets.
