| - A little space with a big kick, that sums up my impression of NoDa Brewing. Now, I'm talking about the tap room when I'm talking about space, it's great for what it is, tables, bar seating, even a patio area on their dock outside. However, I think if you look at NoDa compared to some of the other breweries opening up around Charlotte, they've still got some work cut out to bring in all the crowds. Brewery activities and munchies were missing along with dogs [maybe NoDa is not dog friendly or all the pouches were at home today?]. Friendly bartenders and lots of ordinary seating was available. They also had an impressive amount of their own beers on tap, including some seasonal and guest beers. I particularly enjoyed an Imperial Honey IPA [by Breakside Brewery]. I was however underwhelmed by the Hop, Drop 'n Roll, which I've seen everywhere but hadn't tried as of yet. Not the IPA I would've expected as one of their most popular canned beers.
Honestly, if you're looking for good beer, give NoDa a try, they have some interesting combinations [as well as original names!]. However, if atmosphere is what you're into, I'd suggest BirdSong Brewery right down the street. Drink up ye hearties, yo ho!
