  • My son has been taking guitar lessons for almost 2 years now at Howren music store. I've been thrilled with his instructor and with the staff at Howren. I'm in my 30's now, and used to come to the store to buy clarinet supplies for my elementary school band. Now I'm shuttling my own child for his lessons! The guitar teacher, Chris Sanchez, has been a great influence on my son. He's home practicing every day! He's very easy to work with and my son enjoys learning skills as well as how to play current songs he loves from the radio. Russ, the owner, has been very helpful and accommodating when we've needed to purchase supplies or a new guitar. He helped out when I needed to put a guitar on layaway for the holidays and even allowed me to keep the guitar in the store for a short time before Christmas!! (This allowed me to keep it hidden from my son.) While I'm not currently taking any lessons or playing instruments, I don't find entering the store to be an intimidating experience. Everyone I've encountered has been real helpful and nice. I would definitely encourage aspiring musicians to support this Park Road Shopping center store - they've been there for a long time and I'd like to know they are staying put.
