I had my rook pierced here in June and after months of waiting for it to heal, I found that the pain was increasing instead of decreasing and the swelling was never going down. I visited a local piercer in California and found out that my piercing was done too close to the surface and with jewelry that was significantly too long for the size of my ear and unnecessarily long to account for swelling. I had the jewelry changed and within a few days the pain decreased 90%. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about the location and it is most likely to reject, but at least I am no longer in pain. Definitely not worth the $100+ price tag.
