  • MONEY HUNGRY!!!! Forgive me but this might be a lil long. I used to go to Arbour Lake in 2000 and have no complaints when it was owned by Ian Miller, sadly tho he has passed it down to his sons. I recently moved back to the NW and went back here. I've recommended this place to a few friends and have since called to apologize to them. I had an apt here in late Jan at 430. I showed up early and did all my forms and waited. The waiting room filled and emptied twice and by 5 I was still waiting and no one had said a word to me. I understand people are late, I'm always one of them. I watched a lady walk through the door shortly after 5 and just had a feeling she was my hygienist and I was right. 20 mins later my hygienist came over to me to say she was sorry but all the chairs were now full and I'd have to wait. OK, not so bad but a bit of a pain. So I finally get in shortly after 530 and get my xrays done and my teeth cleaned. Dr Mike comes in to look at them, doesn't really say much to except for "Hi" and "are you flossing everyday" but he talks dentist talk to the hygienist and leaves. He was literly in my presence for less than 5 mins. After he leaves the hygienist says that I have 7 cavities that will need to be filled ASAP. Excuse me.... 7???!?!?!?! I am 27 and have had 1 cavity in my life, I don't believe after 6 months I all of a sudden have 7. So after all is done I get up and am rushed out to the area where you are to pay, it really does feel like an assembly line. So I set up my apt to get the cavities filled and head out the door. I called a gf, who I recommended to this place, when I got home to tell her about my 7 cavities and she tells me that she's sure he's just after insurance money as he told her she had 10. I made an apt across town at my old dentist (C U Smiles, it's wonderful! I saw them between 2001-2011) and ask for a second opinion. I call Arbour Lake a few days before to make sure they've sent my xrays over there as I've already called and asked them to do. The girl tells me there's a problem with my insurance payment so they haven't and won't release any xrays until everything is paid up. Fair enough. I take off work early, cause she said they were closing by 4, to go and pay my $446 tab and once again say "You're sending the Xrays now right?" "Of course we are" she even reads the email address back to me. Saturday I go to C U Smile and of course my xrays haven't made it there. What's better, Arbour Lake is closed on the weekend so they can't send anything. Errrrrrrrrr. My dentist takes a look anyways and tells me she sees 2 cavities but wants to wait for the xrays. So, I book to go on the Tues and call on Mon to see if my xrays have made it. They have but they don't think they're my xrays. Sure enough they weren't. They had sent over about 5 different xrays, some had root canals, some extra fillings and some with caps. So C U Smiles was nice enough to do a set of xrays at no charge so they knew exactly what they were dealing with. After all was said and done I had 2 cavities in total... not 7. I honestly believe Dr Mike and his crew are after insurance money. I think they tell you that you need all this work that you don't so they can cash in on you. Save yourself the hassle and headache and go to somewhere else! I would never ever ever set foot in this office again let alone recommend anyone here.
