  • I had a disappointing experience today at Sharkey's. I have two crazy boys 2.5 and 1, who both hate haircuts. I pay the extra premium for stylists who will understand and be patient with us but I didn't experience that today. When a grumpy looking woman comes at you with a machine that sounds like a chain saw and you're only 2 it's a pretty normal reaction to be upset. When you work at a kids salon i would hope and expect you wouldn't lose patience with something like that happening. I gave this place two stars because the haircuts look pretty good for how wiggly my boys were. Two major things they could improve: 1. Train stylists to be more friendly to kids. Ours never introduced herself, didn't ask what my kids name was, and seemed upset that we were there. 2. Have a better play area. The salon is a little gimmicky. Fancy chairs and a nail painting area are cute, but i need a place i can set my 1 year old while i hold down my flailing 2 year old. Had I known this place wasn't very baby friendly i wouldn't have come. If you have two small kids like I do, there are better, more accommodating places in the area.
