I'm sitting at about 3.5 stars on Steep & Brew west.
Service:
No complaints. The baristas have always been friendly and personable when I come in. They are patient even when there is a long line of customers and they usually make some small talk. If you stop in often, the baristas recognize you as a regular and memorize your order.
The interior is a little dingy, with a few four- and two-top tables for sitting and enjoying. It's connected to a TCBY, which makes things look tacky. Also, it doesn't help that it's in a tacky strip mall.
Coffee drinks:
I have to knock off points for this. I have never really liked their drip coffee (neither light nor dark roast). Perhaps I'm coming in at the wrong time, but it's always a bit burnt and stale tasting. About on par with Starbucks medium roast.
I've had both lattes and Americanos, and both beverages had a similar burnt taste as the drip coffee. Perhaps that's just how they roast their beans... I was served a double espresso in a to-go paper cup which detracted from the beverage. That was disappointing.
All in all, it's a great place to stop for a beverage when you just need a quick caffeine fix.
