| - We have dined at Rita's Kitchen many times.
Went last night for Valentines day...granted, the Camelback Inn is the best in the world, with it's exclusive, one-in-a-million view of Camelback Mountain, but I must be honest, even when I adore a place!
GOOD:
The Atlantic salmon was exquisite as always. We do not like the bitter-burp causing FIRE roasting (at any eatery) so we always request pan-seared fish. They always get it right, cooked through out and not burned on the surface...not old flavor, very fresh!
The Caesar salad was the same as always...NO vinegar and yes, light anchovy flavor.
The Reisling wine was typical Chateau St. Michelle and fresh, so it was good.
BAD: Raphael took our order and another person delivered salads with a friendly/professional persona, as did the next young lady who brought the fresh out-of-the-oven rolls.
We never saw Raphael again...until the check delivery. Finally Clemente strolled through, and we suspected he was either the wine steward or the manager...as soon as Raphael saw him with us...he promptly showed appeared. Clemente told him that he could bring the check.
UGLY: He never returned to see if dinner was ok. He never asked if we wanted another glass of wine, he never offered dessert menu. When someone else gave us the dessert list...no one followed up to take the order! So, we declined a complimentary dessert from Clemente and just wanted the check.
MANY dining on the favored patio and we were "alone" almost indoors...so, we were out of sight out of mind apparently!
WORST: From the moment Raphael arrived at out table, his breathe smelled of ALCOHOL! He bent over to hear me speaking when taking the orders...and there was no mistaking it!
