| - My big return to yelp after my little hiatus....this could be good, and bad for this place.
I've been a Borgata girl for the past 4.5 years- even when I moved back to the Bay for a year, when I came back, it was straight to Borgata. But now, I live closer to the Chandler one.....much closer...decided to give them a try.
Online booking didnt work (annoying), but calling in to schedule an appt didnt take forever- for once - so that was okay. Called in the AM, got a hair appt for the afternoon.
Got there early since it always seems busy (according to yelp reviews) and there was no line. Three more people checked in for hair appointments....and all three got in before me. I felt like Rachel on Friends, the night she had Emma..."I got here first, damnit!". Finally- 17 min after my scheduled time- I was greeted. No apology for the wait (I never seem to have to wait at Borgata). The team of stylists were nice enough. Just layers redone- with Kerastase treatment. Small talk ensued- nothing uncomfortable, yet nothing super engaging.
Bernice did a great job, did exactly the cut I wanted, used my favorite products (Kerastase & Oribe). Double-checked evenness (esp after I told her someone at Arrowhead Dolce butchered my hair in April)- two snaps for her.
Reasons this is 3 star: 1) the wait with no apology- hello, SERVICE. 2) Only when I got to my car and flipped down my visor w/ mirror did I see that there was a BUNCH of hair clippings on my forehead and temples! And on a sweltering day like today- WTF. The stylist did not clean it up, the checkout girl didn't say anything. RUDE. 3) Its alright. Service isn't stellar, yet its not "Arrowhead". Ambiance is okay, nothing impressive like Borgata. Just okay.
I obviously am a loyal Borgata girl---Tommy, I will return- FOR SURE.
