rev:text	I love the Lilac Festival! I'm always so surprised to hear people say they've never heard of it, given how long it's been around! I attend every year as it's a great excuse to round up the family and enjoy a beautiful, fun day in Calgary free of charge. Except this year wasn't so beautiful...in fact, it was pretty chilly but I don't allow the weather to make my plans for me. We headed out pretty late, so parking was a challenge but we expected it and enjoyed the leisurely stroll to and from the car. It was VERY busy this year, which surprised me given the not so good weather, but it was great. Wonderful vendors as always, I had the chance to enter a bunch of draws, score some free samples, as well as check out new businesses and restaurants! We ate at one of the hot dog stands as we were extremely hungry, although I would have loved to try one of the food trucks. The entertainment was great, we saw some singers, some dancers, and a few other things that we weren't sure of! One of my favourite things about the Lilac Fest is seeing all the CUTE DOGGIES! I was there with a few friends and their bulldog and he was super popular with everyone. It was a great day, there was so much to see and do. I really love the summer festivals that Calgary puts on...it's these things that make me happy to live in this city!
