| - I started going to this salon when they first opened. I quit going because they became popular (not sure why) and I could never get an appointment. On Black Friday, via email they were offering a deal for a $27 mani/pedi. I bought two, one for me and one for my daughter. Yesterday, I called to make an appointment and was surprised that I was able to get us both in that day at 5pm. I told the man I made the appointment with that I had the Black Friday $27 deals. He said no problem. We arrive at the salon and they are busy, but we did not have to wait long. However, the music was so loud it was like being in a club. I get mani/pedi's to relax, and this was not relaxing. The nail techs were also talking loudly and cursing. Very unprofessional. The pedicure was very minimal and quick. For my manicure, I told the nail tech that I only wanted my nails buffed, no paint. I was finshed before my daughter, despite the fact that she started her manicure before me and got paint. When I go to check out and give them my vouchers, I am informed that I did not read the fine print and that the vouchers are not good until January! WTH! I told the owner that the man I made the appointment with did not indicate this when I made the appointment. The owner reluctantly honored the vouchers. Then, I am told that it is a $5 charge for buffing my nails! The nail tech never told me this and it is ridiculous to have an upcharge for buffing your nails in lieu of paint. I have NEVER encountered this at any salon. I paid the $5, but I did not tip the nail tech who shoudl have informed me of the charge. It's not about the $5, its the fact that I was not told, and this just seems like a way to pad the bill. Needless to say I will not be returning EVER! I would rather go to the spa at my gym and pay twice as much than ever come her again.
