  • I came here for a body perm and a hair cut. I can see that the staff are skilled at what they do; however their English is next to non-existent. To prepare for this I printed photos of what I wanted along with pictures of what not to do. I also wrote down what I wanted in English and Korean (forums provided the Korean translation haha). I thought I had covered my bases pretty well but for some reason instead of getting 4" off my hair and long layers, the hair stylist just cleaned up the ends of the previous hair cut without adding any layers. Not knowing how the whole process worked and since she didn't ask me if enough had been trimmed, I stupidly thought that they did another 'clean up' trim after the perm. Evidentially not. I had motioned the length I wanted but she just nodded and smiled (I guess had no clue what I was indicating). So while it was clear she had great skills, the language barrier was a bigger issue than I anticipated. The perm looks pretty good. It's always a bit too curly when it's new but in the coming days and weeks I can see that it will relax nicely. The perm was $180. Some sort of 'treatment' was $100, plus 15% tip and tax so it all cost me $384 which is crazy insane. Perhaps I live a sheltered life but that seemed far too excessive.
