  • Okay when you eat here you have to understand what your coming for. So about me, I am a professional cook/Chef & have worked for some very prominent chefs in the USA. Now back to Petes, I grew up on the shrimp and chips. Yes they changed the breading about 2 years ago, is it as good as the orginal? NO! No however its still good when dipped in there house made sauce "pretty sure it's Pato & Ketchup" Anyhow I give them 5 stars because all I order is the shrimp and chips with a side of O rings. My order has never been greasy, overcooked, salty, etc. In the 30 plus years it's been a part if my life & if you go there thinking your getting something like fresh fried jumbo shrimp you will be dissapointed. But if you know what your getting and a Metro Phoenix native you love Petes just as much as I do. I do miss the Van Buren location however I totally support the 44th st location now.
