| - How do I despise this place? Let me count the ways...
Overpriced for what you get. Been here 2x, and my meals were just "meh." The quality of the food made me think of places like TGIF or Olive Garden.
The only good thing here is the baguette, but they serve it with a rectangular log of grocery-store quality, rubbery, bland "cheese." At least they also bring out butter and cornichons (baby pickles).
The decor is quaint like a Parisian bistro...so why the F do they BLAST retro music from the 60s, 70s and 80s???
Noise level at the resto is high, so you have to yell across the table in order to have a conversation.
At one point during our meal, colorful disco lights flashed from above, and a peppy bilingual rendition of "Happy Birthday/Bon Anniversaire" blared out the speakers throughout the restaurant as a team of waiters marched out with a cake with a flaming sparkler stuck in the middle. This was slightly interesting to watch...but after the 2nd and then 3rd time over the course of the evening, it had gotten quite old.
The first time I came to this resto, I had the confit de canard. It was just okay. A little too salty. The 2nd time I had chicken breast with some sort of filling inside. Oy. The chicken was bland, and the filling was simply salty. No other taste but salt. For dessert I had a tarte fine aux pommes. The crust was slightly burned on the bottom, and the taste was absolutely flat. I'm used to a buttery crust, but this one was completely tasteless. And the taste of the apples was...I'm trying to remember...well, it was forgettable at best.
