  • I honestly don't understand the low ratings and bad reviews for the Scott Resort.... My girlfriends and I stayed here over the MDW weekend and we will definitely return! Upon arrival, we were greeted by the front desk who provided much needed information about the hotel amenities, hotel shuttle, the pool area and wrist bands, and where to go for some fun! The front desk staff, especially Zane, is extremely helpful and super friendly! He's a quick rundown of our stay at the Scott Resort this past weekend: Rooms - since we were traveling in pairs, we all booked rooms with the double beds. In our opinion, the beds were quite comfy... the sheets were soft and we love that there were many pillows for us so that we could get our beauty sleep! Our rooms had mini fridges which were fully stocked, our balcony had two chairs and table but it was too hot to sit outside with our morning coffee, and the A/C worked like a dream! The one feature we were excited about is that the bathroom has two, yes TWO, mirrors with a vanity, and two outlets each so that more than one person can get ready AT.THE.SAME.TIME. Trust me.... this is an awesome feature to have when you're traveling with girlfriends! Our rooms were on the second floor. There are no elevators but the second floor is a super short flight of stairs away. And if you overpacked and have with you a heavy suit case.... No worries because the bellman is there to help you out. Pool - Since it was MDW weekend the hotel staff was anticipating a huge turnout and to ensure only hotel guests were at the pool, they issued out blue wristbands. This was no biggie for us as none of us were non-hotel guests trying to hop over the fence to use the pool, hahaha! There is a bar at the pool and they served deliciously refreshing drinks! No joke, they had hired an experienced mixologist to develop several tasty drinks. You're able to order food at the pool and there are plenty of lounge chairs. The pool is large enough and goes to 6 feet deep at one end. There is another small, very shallow pool on the other side were most of the young kiddies are. Our only negative remark about the pool area is that they were charging $350 for the cabanas..... and they didn't even come with a bottle. I believe management should rethink that price. Spa - a couple of the girls enjoyed a 60 minute body bliss massage at their onsite spa, Jurlique. They had nothing but great things to say about their experience! I'll have to check it out the next time I'm visiting =) Shuttle - We didn't travel too far away from the hotel. I believe we stayed within a 3 mile radius.... So we were able to take full advantage of the shuttle. The shuttle drivers were super awesome with their recommendations, too. Currently, there is no fee for use of the shuttle, but gratuity is always appreciated. Lobby Bar - if you're hankering for a drink and the lobby bar isn't too busy, ask Will to make you his specialty which is the Blackberry mojito. It tastes just like a berry flavored soda! But watch out.... It's quite strong. You're welcome. Side note: We discovered through staff that the hotel will be going through a big renovation with plans to update the rooms, lobby, etc. So do keep that in mind when booking your room in the next several months. The Scott Resort will stay open during the reno. I really enjoyed my stay at the Scott Resort and plan on staying there again... for sure.
