rev:text	So, I've heard about this place and I've wanted to stop by. However, every time I go past the restaurant, the line is out the door and down the street. I just don't have that kind of patience anymore, especially when it's the type of neighborhood place where people don't have a problem lingering over ham and eggs for hours. You know that type of place... "Come sit down with your New York Times crossword puzzle and take as long as you need." Good for generating neighborly camaraderie, but bad for folks who just want to eat good food and go! Well, during a recent bank holiday (President's Day to be exact!), my daughter Muff and I had the chance to stop in and eat without waiting in a line. Yippee! Skippee! (It didn't hurt that it was probably 1 degree outside at 8:00am). We were seated quickly and I honestly couldn't make up my mind as to what to eat. Muff quickly settled on the Pumpkin Walnut Pancakes and Chicken Apple Sausage. I kept scanning the dining room to see what looked appealing in person. Finally, I settled on the Crab & Spinach Crepes with a Fruit Cup. As stated in previous posts, I'm a crabmeat fiend. My only hesitation is that some people don't know the difference between a crepe and a pancake. (There's lesson here for self-taught chefs who don't know the basics.) The last thing that I wanted to eat what a mile high "pancakey crepe" with crabmeat, mushrooms, spinach and parmesan cheese sauce. Yuck! This dish was not that. It was delicious with real crabmeat and not that weird fake stuff. Nothing was overwhelming and everything melded together nicely. The fruit cup was also a nice accompaniment to the crepes and was also a wonderful "dead of winter" touch. Someone actually took the time to cut fresh fruit. (I know that sounds crazy, but do you know how often fresh fruit comes straight from the can?) Muff's pumpkin walnut pancakes and chicken apple sausage were also nicely comforting and delicious. Square Café is a nice homey place where you can tell the owners and staff care about their food and their customers. I guess that I'm just jealous that I don't have a similar place nearby that serves high quality ingredients in a relaxed atmosphere. Hey Square Care owners, can you open a place near me?
