| - Just completed the Mile End food tour with tour guide Kim, and had a great time! The tour lasted three hours, and we visited
7 different locations while talking local history and art. Our food stops included: a vegan shop where we had a half pita sandwich with three super tasty falafel, a chocolate shop where we sampled a caramel chocolate and drank a hot chocolate, St. Viatur bagels where we actually got to go behind the counter and see them make bagels and place them in the oven, a shop that make delicious tomato sauce and gnocchi, a butcher where we had a wonderful charcuterie, and finally a gelato shop. In the middle of the tour we took a break at the beautiful Rialto Theatre.
It was a really easy walk minus the stairs at the Rialto theatre. I previously fractured my foot and broke my tendon and made it! Also, it's a very child friendly tour as I brought my 4 year old son with me. He tried most of the foods, and especially loved the chocolate, gelato, gnocchi and the butcher.
Overall, I'd highly recommend this tour for anyone new to Montreal. I particularly liked this tour because it gave me a chance to see an area that other tour companies may overlook because it's more artistic and residential.
