  • Several months ago I brought my vehicle by to have the heat fixed. It was a really nice facility but very little business, which was surprising, but probably should have seen that as a red flag. I dropped it by at the end of the day and they said they would call and let me know how much it would cost. I get a call the next day. The man on the phone quickly said "all repairs come to $1,700, would you like us to start on that for you today?" I was floored considering I only paid $2,000 for the car. I asked what on earth could cost that much to fix. He started using a bunch of mechanic jargon Mumbo Jumbo, but I'm not a total idiot. I had him break down the cost for me, they basically wanted to flush the fuel lines, replace the spark plugs, windshield wipers, car fresheners, whatever they could find an excuse to charge me for. I then explained that I brought it in to have the heat fixed, and asked how much the bare minimum would be just to get the heat repaired, and he said $900. I refused to pay that, because they seemed so shady and I didn't feel like I could trust them. I went to pick up the car and they tried charging me an outrageous "diagnostic fee" . I refused to pay it, but they had my car locked up in the shop and wouldn't release it until I paid. After a bit of heated dispute, they finally surrendered my vehicle back to me. I have never felt so scammed in my life. The place was so slimy and crooked I couldn't get out fast enough. For the record. I took my car down to a mechanic that I trusted that had a bit of a wait list, but he's good and honest. He fixed the problem for $300, and it works perfectly. Stay away from these Scam artists. Maybe I should just call them Scammers, because calling them artists by any stretch of the imagination is giving them too much credit. The only positive is that they were nice on the phone, and called back several times trying to get me to come back, but I'm not sure that's a good thing.
