| - I've been collecting Anne's pieces since she opened in Mirvish Village on Markham St. Her designs still resonate with me--simple, elegant, organic. But unfortunately the store experience on Queen St. is abysmal. I've been in there at least 3 dozen times over the last 4 years and I consistently receive embarrassing service.
The staff are ill-informed. One person will tell you one thing and someone else another. On my last visit, the girl locked the door while I was still looking. Surprised, I checked my watch. Five 'til. I guess she couldn't wait to get outta there. I took the hint.
I tried on a ring. I asked if it could be resized. Yes, they would order my size but they only order once a year so it could be a year for me to receive it. One, this isn't resizing. Two, wth?!?
I tried on a bracelet. A $1,500 bracelet. Do you know how hard it is to fasten your own bracelet? Of course you do. Sales girl does not. She likes to talk to her coworker and look at her phone.
Asked about another piece of jewelry. No she says. But what about in the window, I ask. No she says. I insist the window. She rolls eyes, checks window and reluctantly returns with the piece.
I just can't subject myself to this nonsense. I've resorted to browsing on the website and coming in to try on specific things.
It's not like they're selling $50 jeans. Hundreds or thousands of dollars are being spent here--these decisions take time. Can you make a customer feel like...at the very least...they're not a nuisance?
Shape up or ship out, Experimetal.
