Normally I would give Southwest Air 5 stars, but not today. I don't know if it is a new policy or if the boarding pass taker was just being a control freak. I set my alarm to wake up in time to check in exactly 24 hours before the flight. I got B25 and my girlfriend got B31. So we are in the boarding line together. When we get to the boarding pass taker, she tells us we can't board together and that my GF has to leave me and go to her number spot in line. I have flown SWA for decades and this never has happened before. I told the woman taking the passes, that this was messed up. She said "send in a complaint." I wanted to tell her off, but did not want to get thrown off the flight.
Here is the bottom line:
Southwest offers paperless boarding passes, but makes it impossible for a couple to get them if they are on the same reservation. Separate reservations means separate boarding passes that are not likely consecutive numbers.
