  • I don't want to be one of those parents that take their kid out of a situation just because they have a little difficultly adapting but she really just didn't like going to "school" here. After many many months of hard mornings and tearful pleas to stay at home my husband and I decided to try Primrose down the street. Of course my daughter still prefers to stay home but she no longer hates school days now that we have left Children's Learning Adventure. My daughter only attends preK 8hrs a day-two days a week. At children's learning adventure it had been challenging helping her feel like part of the class. My daughter LOVED her teacher Ms Valarie (and honestly she was the only reason we stayed on so long at this place) but she could only do so much helping my daughter adapt, if Valarie was on break or something during dropoff...look out it's going to be a hard separation. I can't blame my daughter, the other teachers didn't even know her name. Because of the way they do things here my daughter was constantly put in unfamiliar areas with unfamiliar people/classmates and it's no wonder she hated it. Children's learning adventure LOOKS very impressive & they have a great playground and different activities that look like fun but my daughter rarely benefited from many of the activities, she just wasn't there on the right days I guess. My feeling is that Childrens Learning Adventure is highly "commercialized" all about volume and getting the child/teacher ratio at maximum. They stuff 2+ classes into one of those tiny rooms with however many teachers they need to keep the ratio where it needs to be...chaotic. Happened all the time...makes me feel like I'm dropping my daughter off at a "Childrens Warehouse". With the exception of Valarie (my daughter's main teacher), Virginia (a very nice infant room teacher across the hall that my daughter took a liking to), and some of the nice ladies at the front desk I'm not at all impressed with the faculty. I never saw most of the administration after the day we enrolled (except roaming around ignoring the kids/parents they come across). Most employees are cold, unfriendly, and distracted. My daughter still is still attending "school" on the same days but now that we have left Childrens Learning Adventure she is much happier. I didn't realize how much we needed the change until I had something else to compare with.
