  • It's surprising that Apache Burgers remains a success in this post-burger boom landscape, as the joint, which looks like it's been around for decades, can't hold a candle to up-and-comers like The Burger's Priest, Holy Chuck, and all the rest of 'em. It's most likely the nostalgia factor that keeps Apache in business, since their burger is passable but far from memorable. I showed up just after 11:00 on a weekday and the place was empty. I ordered the regular hamburger and a surly employee asked what I wanted on it. It's a decent burger; the toppings are all fine and the patty itself boasts a nice charbroiled flavor. But that's where the compliments end. This tastes like exactly the sort of uninspired hamburger you could get at your local Harvey's, which is fine, if you're in the mood for it.
