  • This review is based on one lunch visit. Having lived in Paris, I ordered only specifically French items: quiche lorraine, French onion soup and the basket of croissants. The quiche was excellent, perfectly seasoned, creamy and rich with lots of chopped bacon, as it should be. Also, a very generous salad came with good (and sufficient) dressing). The only minor issue is that the crust could have been more crisp. I give this dish an A-. The French onion soup was also authentic, with a rich broth, lots of gruyere cheese and a chunk of a baguette on the top. Baked in the oven with the top all melted, unlike the ersatz version found in many American restaurants. Again, the only caveat is that it was a little too salty, which didn't prevent it from being delicious. An A-. The basket of croissants came with four small heated croissants, plus four small scoops of butter and a scoop of jam, each in their own little container. They were good, buttery and tasty, although not as crusty and layered as the best croissant are. B+. The small restaurant was nicely decorated with French pictures and bright colors, with an outdoor patio that could seat about 10-12 people. The food was a bit slow in coming, especially since we were almost the only customers, but we were told it would take 15 minutes to prepare the croissant, and the food was carefully prepared and hot when it arrived. Service was efficient rather than friendly (very French) but everything was done properly, no complaints. The bill with tax was $27.92, and clearly stated that this was "pre-tip amount", unlike in France where the tip (service compris) is automatically added to the bill. I think the prices are a bit high for those dishes, but the overall quality was very good and I would happily return. And another big plus, very soft music in the background, rather than the usual blaring sounds that hinder conversation in so many restaurants now. A good local restaurant.
