  • I brought my dog in late Friday evening because his left eye developed a red bump near his tear duct. I was disappointed for several reasons: 1. The vet didn't seem confident in his diagnosis. He thought my dog had a detached 3rd eyelid but he said he could also prescribe antibiotic eye drops "if I wanted." I asked him to clarify why I might want the eye drops and he said in case it's just an eye infection. I asked him to further clarify and he said it could either be a detached 3rd eyelid that might reattach on its own, stay that way, or need surgery OR it could be an eye infection. ---very ambiguous. He followed up by telling us to see our regular vet on Monday. 2. The nurse that came in after to show me how to use the eye drops did a horrible job. When she opened the tube, about 1.25inches of gel started seeping out. She then proceeded to put all of it in my dog's eye. Most of it seeped out of his eye. I asked her "is that how much I'm normally supposed to put in? Or less?" She replied "oh. Less. I just put that much in because it all squirted out when I opened it." My thought: Lazy, why didn't you just put a small part of it in?! After which, I wiped the excess off from around my dog's eye, not her because she didn't care. 3. We waited a very long time. No one else was there. I know wait times can be a while, but after the vet left our room, we waited an additional 15min to have someone come in to check us out. During that time, I heard the nurse in the back say to the other nurse "we should probably check them out soon. Where should we put these boxes?" They were simply organizing, something that could've been done after checking us out. The positives: They were friendly and I was at least comforted by the fact that my dog was dying. Plus they were open 24 hours. Update: the manager called me and spent 10 minutes on the phone with me. He truly cares about his practice and wanted to know what they can do to improve in the future. I believe he has the best intentions and will do his best to make sure the above things mentioned don't happen again :)
